Current Projects

Working together as a partnership has led to a number of collaborative projects to address local needs including funded youth sessions, activity sessions for primary schools, parental support, and peer support for young people.

Cullompton Youth Development Partnership

Cullompton Town Council, Involve Mid Devon, The John Tallack Centre Trust, and Space Devon have worked together to secure a sustainable model of delivery for Youth Work sessions in Cullompton. A Youth Worker and assistant youth worker are now in post and run twice weekly sessions for young people with regular activities for Yrs 7-8 and Yrs 9-18 yrs old.

Active Reach - Play-based physical activity sessions (7-9 yrs)

Active Devon have partnered with Willowbank Primary School to create Active Reach, a series of FREE activity sessions after school and during the holidays to encourage physical activity through play. Parents of children aged 7-9 yrs can sign up to FREE and stay for coffee, cake and peer support.

The Culm Valley Youth Link Worker scheme is funded by the GP practices within Culm Valley Primary Care Network. Experienced link workers meet 1-1 with young people aged 11-18 to connect to local support and opportunities to improve wellbeing. For more information please see our CYP Link Worker page.

Parental Minds - Parent Support Hub

Parents and Caregivers can access 1-1 support, low cost counselling and peer support groups through Parental Minds, delivered in partnership with Culm Valley Primary Care Network. For more information see our Parental Minds page.

Resilient Young Minds - Nature-based Wellbeing Sessions (11-16 yrs)

A partnership between College Surgery, Cullompton Community College and GP & Educator Dr Lucy Loveday to pilot & deliver a Train the Trainer model of of Resilient Young Minds, a Nature-based Health Inequity Social Prescribing Project for up to 16 young people at a local secondary School. Mental Health Peer Support Groups

(11-16 yrs)

CYP Link Workers are working with Cullompton Community College piloted a project to run small group education and peer support sessions for young people who self-harm. Feedback indicates this is valued by young people who reported improvements in peer relationships and self-esteem.
